CRMarker

CRMarker provides a curated repository of cancer-associated RNA markers (mRNAs, miRNAs, lncRNAs, circRNAs), including known and predicted markers, to support diagnostic and prognostic biomarker research.

Key Features:

  • Comprehensive Database: CRMarker v1.1 contains 5,489 known cancer RNA markers compiled from a literature review of 8,756 PubMed-indexed publications, comprising 2,878 mRNAs, 1,314 miRNAs, 1,097 lncRNAs, and 200 circRNAs.
  • Functional Annotation: Markers are categorized by roles in cancer diagnosis and prognosis and cover 21 organisms and 154 cancer types.
  • Predictive Analysis: More than 18,000 potential cancer RNA markers are predicted using "guilt-by-association" analysis across three molecular interaction networks, with survival analysis performed on 18 gene expression datasets that include survival data.
  • Entry Attributes: Database entries include RNA expression levels, risk association, tissue or sample type, cancer subtype, and reference type.

Scientific Applications:

  • Diagnostic and Prognostic Biomarker Discovery: Combining curated markers, predicted candidates, and survival analysis to identify and prioritize RNAs for diagnostic and prognostic studies.
  • Comparative and Cross-species Cancer Research: Exploration of RNA–cancer associations across 21 organisms and 154 cancer types.
  • Target Prioritization for Functional Validation: Use of predicted markers and expression/risk annotations to select candidates for experimental validation and potential therapeutic targeting.

Methodology:

Manual curation from 8,756 PubMed-indexed publications; prediction via "guilt-by-association" analysis across three molecular interaction networks; survival analysis on 18 gene expression datasets with survival data.
