CRSD

CRSD integrates transcription factor (TF) and microRNA regulatory information to identify composite regulatory signatures and analyze their roles in human gene expression regulation.

Key Features:

  • Integration of Diverse Databases: Consolidates human UniGene, mature microRNAs, putative promoter sequences, TRANSFAC, pathway data, and Gene Ontology (GO) resources to support analysis of gene expression signatures (GESs), microRNA regulatory signatures (MRSs), and TF regulatory signatures (TRSs).
  • Genome-wide MRS and TRS Databases: Includes newly constructed genome-wide MRS and TRS databases for comprehensive regulatory signature coverage.
  • Microarray Data Processing: Provides pretreatment procedures and statistical analyses specific to microarray data.
  • Clustering and Signature Analysis: Implements clustering techniques for grouping expression patterns and deriving GESs, MRSs, and TRSs.
  • Iterative Enrichment Analysis: Applies iterative enrichment analysis to detect overrepresented regulatory signals across signature sets.
  • Motif Discovery: Performs motif discovery to identify regulatory elements associated with TFs and microRNAs.

Scientific Applications:

  • Gene Regulation Networks: Enables analysis of GESs, MRSs, and TRSs to elucidate regulatory relationships governing human gene expression.
  • microRNA and TF Interactions: Supports exploration of combinatorial effects and interactions between microRNAs and transcription factors in gene regulation.

Methodology:

Consolidation of human UniGene, mature microRNAs, putative promoter sequences, TRANSFAC, pathway data, and GO; construction of genome-wide MRS and TRS databases; microarray pretreatment, statistical analyses, clustering, iterative enrichment analysis, and motif discovery.
