DeepBlue Epigenomic Data Server

DeepBlue Epigenomic Data Server provides programmatic access to curated reference epigenomes and high-resolution epigenomic region sets from ENCODE, ROADMAP, BLUEPRINT, and DEEP to support large-scale analysis of epigenomic regulation.

Key Features:

  • Comprehensive Data Access: Aggregates and exposes epigenomic datasets and region sets from ENCODE, ROADMAP, BLUEPRINT, and DEEP.
  • Programmatic Interface: Enables finding, selecting, filtering, summarizing, and downloading region sets for downstream analyses.
  • API with XML-RPC Protocol: Provides an XML-RPC API to invoke server operations from a wide range of programming languages.
  • Server-side Pipeline Operations: Executes operations on the server to perform pipeline-style processing and reduce transferred data volume.

Scientific Applications:

  • Epigenomic regulation studies: Supports large-scale analysis of chromatin states and other epigenomic features across reference epigenomes.
  • Comparative and integrative analyses: Enables integration and comparison of datasets from ENCODE, ROADMAP, BLUEPRINT, and DEEP.
  • Disease and therapeutic research: Facilitates investigation of epigenetic mechanisms in disease etiology and the identification of therapeutic targets.

Methodology:

Organizes data from multiple sources using controlled vocabularies and ontologies and provides pipeline-style server-side operations that ensure only meaningful data subsets are transferred to optimize computational resources.
