DGRPool

DGRPool aggregates harmonized phenotyping data from the Drosophila Genetic Reference Panel (DGRP) to enable genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and phenome-wide association studies (PheWAS) of complex traits in Drosophila melanogaster.

Key Features:

  • Phenotype Harmonization: DGRPool aggregates phenotyping data of 1034 phenotypes across 135 DGRP studies in a common environment.
  • Association Study Tools: DGRPool enables users to run genome-wide (GWAS) and phenome-wide (PheWAS) association studies.
  • Data Download: DGRPool enables users to download harmonized DGRP phenotyping data.
  • Phenotype Correlation Analysis: DGRPool supports the study of correlations between phenotypes such as longevity, locomotor activity, starvation resistance, desiccation survival, and oxidative stress resistance.

Scientific Applications:

  • Complex Trait Genetics: DGRPool facilitates the study of the relationship between genetic and phenotypic variation in Drosophila melanogaster under standardized growth conditions.
  • GWAS of DGRP Phenotypes: DGRPool enables genome-wide association studies to identify genetic variants associated with DGRP phenotypes.
  • PheWAS Analysis: DGRPool enables phenome-wide association studies to investigate how genetic variants affect multiple phenotypes across the DGRP.
  • Longevity Research: DGRPool supports the study of longevity phenotypes and their correlations with other traits such as locomotor activity, starvation resistance, desiccation survival, and oxidative stress resistance.

Methodology:

DGRPool harmonizes and indexes phenotyping data from 135 DGRP studies, aggregating 1034 phenotypes in a common environment to enable GWAS and PheWAS analyses.
