DIANA-miTED

DIANA-miTED provides a comprehensive resource of microRNA (miRNA) expression profiles across human tissues, anatomical sublocations, cell lines, and disease states to support analysis of miRNA distribution and biomarker discovery.

Key Features:

  • Extensive Data Collection: Compiles and analyzes 15,183 raw human small RNA-Seq (sRNA-Seq) datasets sourced from the Sequence Read Archive (SRA) and The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA).
  • Curated Metadata: Includes manually curated metadata standardizing annotations across 199 tissues, 82 anatomical sublocations, 267 cell lines, and 261 diseases.
  • Integration with Functional Resources: Query results generate links to advanced miRNA functional resources for downstream functional exploration.

Scientific Applications:

  • Gene regulation studies: Enables comparative analyses of miRNA expression patterns to investigate post-transcriptional regulatory mechanisms.
  • Biomarker identification: Supports discovery and comparison of candidate miRNA biomarkers across tissues and disease states.
  • Therapeutic target exploration: Facilitates identification of miRNAs with disease-associated expression profiles relevant to therapeutic investigation.

Methodology:

Analysis and compilation of 15,183 raw human small RNA-Seq (sRNA-Seq) datasets obtained from the Sequence Read Archive (SRA) and The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA).
