ENCD
ENCD provides a curated repository of experimentally validated associations between endocrine system diseases (ESDs) and long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) to support investigation of lncRNA roles in disease progression and metastasis.
Key Features:
- Comprehensive associations: 1379 experimentally supported associations involving 35 ESDs and 501 lncRNAs across 12 human tissues are recorded.
- Disease-specific genetic data: Links between lncRNAs and specific endocrine diseases are annotated with associated anatomical sites and tissue context.
- Regulatory network data: Disease- and gene-centric regulatory networks capture lncRNA interactions and relationships relevant to ESDs.
Scientific Applications:
- Molecular pathway analysis: Characterizing how specific lncRNAs influence ESD progression and metastasis using experimentally validated associations.
- Target identification: Prioritizing lncRNAs as potential therapeutic targets or biomarkers in endocrine system diseases.
- Network biology studies: Investigating complex lncRNA-mediated regulatory networks underlying endocrine disorders.
Methodology:
Rigorous curation from existing scientific literature retaining only experimentally supported lncRNA–ESD associations.
