EpiFactors catalogs functional information on human and mouse epigenetic regulators, including proteins (histones and protamines) and long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), and provides expression data to support studies of gene expression regulation and genome stability mediated by covalent DNA and histone modifications.
Key Features:
- Curated Information: Manually curated entries cover 815 epigenetic proteins, including 95 histones and protamines, and include annotations for other epigenetic regulators and lncRNAs in human and mouse.
- Expression Data: Expression values are provided for 789 genes across 458 human primary cell samples (≈200 cell types), 255 cancer cell lines (≈150 cancer subtypes), and 134 human postmortem tissues.
- Protein Complexes: Annotations include 69 protein complexes involved in epigenetic regulation.
- Data Source: Expression values are derived from Cap Analysis of Gene Expression (CAGE) data produced by the FANTOM5 consortium.
