FuncAssociate
FuncAssociate identifies Gene Ontology (GO) terms and other properties that are statistically enriched within lists of genes or proteins to support biological interpretation of experimental datasets.
Key Features:
- Enrichment Analysis: Performs enrichment analysis to detect Gene Ontology (GO) terms significantly overrepresented in input gene or protein lists.
- Multiple Naming Systems Support: Conducts enrichment analysis across multiple gene- and protein-naming systems to mitigate translation artifacts from nomenclature discrepancies.
- Ranked Statistical Output: Produces a ranked list of statistically enriched GO terms based on the input data.
Scientific Applications:
- Functional Genomics: Interpreting gene function and interaction networks through enriched GO terms derived from gene lists.
- Proteomics: Analyzing protein expression datasets to identify functional implications via GO term enrichment.
- Systems Biology: Supporting integration of functional insights across biological levels by providing enrichment-based annotations for datasets.
Methodology:
Accepts a user-provided list of genes or proteins and processes it to produce a ranked output of statistically enriched Gene Ontology (GO) terms, with support for multiple naming systems to minimize nomenclature inconsistencies.
