GAG
GAG generates NCBI-compatible annotation tables by converting and curating annotated whole genome sequencing (WGS) assemblies into the NCBI annotation table (.tbl) format for submission to the NCBI Genome Assembly database.
Key Features:
- Conversion to .tbl: Converts annotated genome assemblies into the NCBI annotation table (.tbl) file format.
- Annotation assessment: Performs assessment of annotations to identify issues requiring curation.
- Post-annotation filtering: Applies post-annotation assembly filtering to select or remove features prior to submission.
- Annotation transfer: Transfers annotations from assembly files into the .tbl structure required by NCBI.
- NCBI compliance: Generates .tbl files aligned with the requirements of the NCBI Genome Assembly database.
Scientific Applications:
- WGS submission preparation: Preparing whole genome sequencing (WGS) data and annotated assemblies for submission to the NCBI Genome Assembly database.
- Assembly curation: Curation and standardization of annotated genome assemblies prior to repository deposition.
- Post-annotation QC: Post-annotation quality control and filtering of assemblies in WGS projects.
Methodology:
Performs annotation assessment, post-annotation assembly filtering, transfer of annotations, and conversion of assemblies into the NCBI annotation table (.tbl) format.
