GALLO
GALLO annotates genomic regions and integrates GWAS and RNA sequencing data to identify positional candidate loci and annotate genes and quantitative trait loci (QTLs) associated with complex traits in livestock.
Key Features:
- Accurate Annotation: Annotates genes and quantitative trait loci (QTLs) within genomic regions identified by GWAS and RNA sequencing.
- Graphical Visualization: Generates visualizations to compare gene and QTL annotations across methods, breeds, tissues, statistical models, and studies.
- Data Integration and Comparison: Integrates and compares multiple biological datasets to detect patterns and re-evaluate reported associations.
- QTL Enrichment Analysis: Performs QTL enrichment analysis across livestock species including cattle, pigs, sheep, and chickens.
Scientific Applications:
- Candidate gene and QTL discovery: Identifies candidate genes and QTLs associated with economically important traits in livestock.
- Comparative genomics and breed-specific analyses: Enables comparative studies across breeds and species to uncover evolutionary patterns and breed-specific adaptations.
- Re-evaluation of reported associations: Supports data mining to re-evaluate previously reported genetic associations with complex traits.
Methodology:
Integrates GWAS and RNA sequencing data to map genes and QTLs within identified regions, performs QTL enrichment analysis across species, and generates graphical comparisons across datasets.
