gdtools_gd2gvf
gdtools_gd2gvf converts Genome Diff (GD) files into Genome Variation Format (GVF) files to represent and document genomic variations such as insertions, deletions, and substitutions for downstream variant analysis.
Key Features:
- Conversion Capability: Converts GD files into GVF files that represent genomic variations including insertions, deletions, and substitutions.
- Galaxy integration: Executes within the Galaxy platform and can be incorporated into Galaxy workflows via the Galaxy API or the Bioblend library.
Scientific Applications:
- Genomic Variation Analysis: Produces GVF outputs suitable for analyses of genetic diversity, mutation annotation, and variant interpretation.
- Metagenomics workflow integration: Provides standardized GVF-formatted mutation data that can be integrated with metagenomics analysis services such as MetaGenSense.
Methodology:
Processes GD files using the Galaxy execution engine and communicates with Galaxy via the Galaxy API or the Bioblend library.
