GENEASE

GENEASE integrates multi-omics and phenotype databases generated from high-throughput sequencing technologies to enable functional and overlap analyses of non-coding regulatory variants in post-GWAS functional genomics.

Key Features:

  • Unified Data Access: Integrates over 50 public-domain databases, including GTEx, ClinVar, dbGaP, GWAS Catalog, ENCODE, Roadmap Epigenomics, KEGG, Reactome, and gene and phenotype ontologies.
  • Data Querying and Visualization: Enables efficient querying, exploration, analysis, and visualization of diverse omics datasets and phenotype databases.
  • Functional and Overlap Analysis: Performs downstream functional, enrichment, and overlap analyses of non-coding regulatory variants identified by GWAS and supports gene/variant and disease exploration, including real-time analyses.
  • Multi-species Database Coverage: Accesses model organism–specific databases alongside human-centric resources to support comparative and cross-species exploratory analyses.

Scientific Applications:

  • Post-GWAS functional genomics: Supports functional interpretation of non-coding regulatory variants discovered by GWAS.
  • Variant-to-gene and disease exploration: Integrates multi-omics and phenotype resources to explore gene/variant and disease relationships.
  • Enrichment and overlap analysis: Enables enrichment and overlap analyses to annotate regulatory elements and prioritize candidate variants.
  • Disease ontology and personalized medicine research: Facilitates disease ontology exploration and contributes integrated data for personalized medicine investigations.
  • Comparative genomics: Supports exploratory analyses across model organisms and human datasets for cross-species interpretation.

Methodology:

Performs efficient querying, exploration, visualization, and downstream functional, enrichment, and overlap analyses of integrated multi-omics and phenotype datasets.
