GEPSdb
GEPSdb aggregates gene expression profiles from RNA-seq and microarray experiments for poplar (Populus L.) under environmental stress to support analysis of stress-responsive genes and links between transcriptional changes and phenotypes.
Key Features:
- Comprehensive Data Collection: Aggregates 11 RNA-seq experiments and 51 microarray libraries covering 14 types of environmental stress in Populus L.
- Verified Gene Information: Includes information on 56 genes that are documented in the literature and functionally verified within poplar species.
- Data Integration: Integrates RNA-seq and microarray datasets to consolidate transcriptional profiles across experiments.
- Transcription–Phenotype Linking: Associates transcriptional datasets with phenotypic outcomes to enable investigation of stress-associated phenotypic changes.
Scientific Applications:
- Stress Response Research: Characterizing how diverse environmental stresses alter gene expression in Populus L.
- Functional Genomics: Identifying candidate genes involved in stress tolerance to inform downstream functional studies and breeding efforts.
- Systems Biology: Combining RNA-seq and microarray expression profiles to support modeling of pathways and networks underlying stress adaptation.
Methodology:
Integration and curation of RNA-seq and microarray data, with selection of high-quality experimental datasets for inclusion.
