GlobalFungi provides access to and enables analysis of high-throughput sequencing data of fungal communities across terrestrial biomes for ecological, biogeographical, and taxonomic research.

- Extensive Database: Hosts over 600 million observations of fungal sequences from more than 17,000 samples representing soil and plant-associated habitats.
- Geographical and Metadata Integration: Each sample is geographically tagged and linked to extensive metadata compiled from 178 original studies.
- Sequence Data: Contains millions of unique nucleotide sequence variants targeting the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) 1 and 2 regions for high-resolution fungal taxonomic assignment.
