GlycoPattern

GlycoPattern analyzes glycan array data from the Consortium for Functional Glycomics (CFG) to identify structural motifs and characterize glycan–protein binding patterns for glycomics research.

Key Features:

  • Discovery of Structural Motifs: Implements algorithms to identify glycan structural motifs from glycan array datasets.
  • Heatmap Visualization: Produces heatmap visualizations to compare multiple experiments and highlight binding pattern variations.
  • Hierarchical Clustering: Performs hierarchical clustering of glycan binding proteins (GBPs) based on identified binding motifs.
  • Structural Search Feature: Provides targeted structural search within experimental data to locate specific glycans or motif patterns.

Scientific Applications:

  • Glycan–Protein Interaction Analysis: Characterizes binding properties of glycans and glycan–protein interactions using array data.
  • Cellular and Immune Biology: Investigates roles of glycan binding in cell signaling, immune response, and pathogen recognition.
  • Disease Research: Supports studies in immunology, virology, and cancer research by linking glycan motifs to biological function.

Methodology:

Applies bioinformatics algorithms to detect structural motifs, generates heatmap visualizations, conducts hierarchical clustering of GBPs, and performs structural searches within experimental glycan array data.
