GMMAD

GMMAD catalogs curated and predicted associations between human diseases, gut microbes, and gut microbial metabolites to enable identification of disease-associated metabolites and candidate biomarkers or drug leads.


Key Features:

  • Extensive Associations: GMMAD contains 3,836 manually curated disease-microbe associations and 879,263 microbe-metabolite associations extracted from scientific literature and existing databases.
  • Predictive Capabilities: Using an association strength score and a confidence score, GMMAD predicts 220,690 disease-metabolite associations restricted to metabolites produced by gut microbes and classifies associations above predefined thresholds as positive effective associations.
  • Biomarker and Drug Candidate Identification: Associations below score thresholds are reported as negative effective associations and are proposed as potential biomarkers and drug candidates.
