GROP

GROP provides a centralized repository and analysis platform for genomic and transcriptomic data from oil-producing plants to support investigation of the genetic basis of oil synthesis and biomass energy research.

Key Features:

  • Integrated datasets: Integrates genomic information from 18 species, including 22 genome assemblies and 46 transcriptomes.
  • Data types: Contains coding sequences, protein sequences, genome structures, and functional annotation information.
  • Next-generation sequencing support: Incorporates datasets generated using next-generation sequencing technologies.
  • BLAST Tool: Performs sequence similarity searches against the repository datasets using BLAST.
  • Genome Browser: Provides genome browsing and visualization of genome assemblies and transcriptomes.
  • Functional Enrichment Analysis: Performs functional enrichment analysis to identify significant biological processes, pathways, or gene ontology terms.
  • Search Functionality: Facilitates retrieval of specific genomic information from the repository.

Scientific Applications:

  • Genetic basis of oil synthesis: Supports studies aimed at understanding the genetic basis of oil synthesis in plants.
  • Biomass energy research: Enables genomic investigations relevant to renewable biomass energy production.
  • Sustainable agriculture: Supports research contributing to sustainable agricultural practices.

Methodology:

Integrates genomic and transcriptomic datasets derived from next-generation sequencing and provides BLAST-based sequence similarity searches, genome browser visualization, and functional enrichment analysis.
