gutMDisorder
gutMDisorder curates associations between gut microbiota dysbiosis and human and mouse disorders and intervention measures to support research on microbiota-related disease mechanisms.
Key Features:
- Comprehensive associations: Documents 2,263 curated associations between 579 gut microbes and 123 human disorders or 77 intervention measures, and 930 curated associations between 273 gut microbes and 33 mouse disorders or 151 intervention measures.
- Detailed entry information: Each entry records the specific intestinal microbe, disorder name, intervention measure, experimental technology and platform, sample characteristics, links for downloading sequencing data, a brief association description, and literature references.
- Manual curation and experimental validation: Associations are manually curated from experimental studies and are supported by experimental validation.
Scientific Applications:
- Microbiota–disease interaction studies: Enables investigation of how alterations in gut microbiota composition contribute to the development of chronic disorders.
- Therapeutic target identification: Aids identification of potential microbial targets for therapeutic interventions.
- Intervention effect analysis: Supports analysis of how drugs, foods, and other intervention measures influence gut microbiota composition and function.
- Translational research: Supports basic and translational studies aimed at developing new treatments for chronic disorders.
Methodology:
Entries were manually curated from experimental studies with associated metadata (experimental technology/platform, sample characteristics, sequencing data links) and documented with literature-backed experimental validation.
