HCDT

HCDT provides a highly confident database of experimentally validated drug–target associations to support drug discovery, repositioning, drug synergy prediction, functional mechanism analysis, and biological pathway mining.

Key Features:

  • Integration of Multiple Databases: HCDT consolidates data from eight distinct drug-related databases, including DrugBank and BindingDB, to produce a unified set of drug–target associations.
  • Extensive Data Coverage: HCDT contains 500,681 highly confident drug–target associations involving 299,458 drugs and 5,618 target genes, representing 1.1–254.2× increases in drugs, 1.8–5.5× in target genes, and 1.4–27.7× in drug–target associations compared with individual databases.
  • High Confidence Validation: All associations in HCDT are experimentally validated to ensure high confidence.
  • Mitigation of Database Heterogeneity: HCDT addresses limitations of existing resources by reducing separation, incompleteness, and non-uniformity arising from varying curation criteria across source databases.

Scientific Applications:

  • Drug Discovery and Repositioning: Supports identification of new therapeutic uses for existing drugs through curated drug–target associations.
  • Drug Synergy Prediction: Aids prediction of synergistic drug combinations for combination therapy strategies.
  • Functional Mechanism Analysis: Enables exploration of drug functional mechanisms via integration with multi-omics data.
  • Biological Pathway Mining: Facilitates discovery of drug-related biological pathways and potential therapeutic targets.

Methodology:

Integration, collection, filtering, and supplementation of data from multiple drug-related databases.
