Hemolytik catalogs experimentally determined hemolytic and non-hemolytic peptides and associated annotations to support analysis and design of therapeutic peptides.

  • Database content: Approximately 3,000 entries including around 2,000 unique peptides with experimentally determined hemolytic annotations.
  • Hemolytic activity data: Hemolytic activities were experimentally evaluated using erythrocytes sourced from up to 17 different origins.
  • Data sources: Entries were compiled from published research articles and existing databases including Antimicrobial Peptide Database, Collection of Anti-microbial Peptides, Dragon Antimicrobial Peptide Database, and Swiss-Prot.
  • Peptide annotations: Each entry includes peptide name, amino acid sequence, origin, and reported functions.
  • Chemical and structural properties: Annotations include chirality, classification as linear or cyclic, and end modifications.
  • Structural data: Predicted tertiary structures and assigned secondary structure states are provided for peptides.
