Hepamine

Hepamine provides pre-analyzed microarray gene expression data and visualization for liver disease research.

Key Features:

  • Pre-Analyzed Microarray Data: Pre-processed microarray datasets for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), cholangiocarcinoma (CCC), liver cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis B and C, and biliary atresia processed using R and the limma Bioconductor package.
  • Visualization Tools: Three-color tables indicating upregulation, downregulation, or no differential expression of genes across multiple experiments.
  • Data Integration and Linkage: Integration with the DAVID bioinformatics suite to link gene expression results to functional and genetic databases.
  • Comprehensive Repository: Collection comprising 13 gene expression datasets, 20 microarray experiments, and approximately 400,000 gene expression measurements sourced from NCBI GEO.

Scientific Applications:

  • Translational hepatology research: Supports comparative studies of gene expression across liver diseases to inform translational investigations.
  • Disease mechanism and therapeutic target discovery: Facilitates identification of gene expression patterns that inform disease mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets.
  • Basic and clinical gene expression studies: Enables analyses aimed at improving liver disease diagnosis and treatment through gene expression data.

Methodology:

Preprocessing of microarray data using R and the limma Bioconductor package; datasets sourced from NCBI GEO; integration with the DAVID bioinformatics suite; visualization via three-color tables indicating upregulation, downregulation, or no differential expression.
