HIHISIV
HIHISIV integrates gene expression data associated with HIV and SIV infection in both hosts and pathogens to facilitate research on lentiviral pathogenesis and host immune response.
Key Features:
- Data Integration: The database combines microarray and RNA-Seq gene expression data selected, curated, analyzed, enriched, and stored in a relational database.
- Query Templates: Six query templates comprise the main data analysis functions.
- Data Download: Resulting information from queries can be downloaded.
- Browsing and Visualization: The database provides resources for browsing and visualizing results.
Scientific Applications:
- Lentiviral Pathogenesis Research: Supports investigation of host-pathogen interactions and disease progression in HIV and SIV infections.
- Comparative Transcriptomics: Enables integration and evaluation of transcriptional data across human and nonhuman primate hosts in the presence or absence of HIV or SIV.
- Immune Response Analysis: Facilitates study of host immune responses to lentiviral infection using pre-existing transcriptome data.
Methodology:
Gene expression datasets were selected, curated, analyzed, enriched, and stored in a relational database.
