Bimas HLA Peptide Binding Predictions predicts and ranks 8-mer, 9-mer, and 10-mer peptides by their dissociation half-time from the MHC class I molecule HLA-A2 using coefficients derived from experimental peptide binding data.
Key Features:
- Predictive Accuracy: Calculates theoretical binding stability by multiplying position- and amino-acid-specific coefficients, reproducing experimental binding stability within a factor of 5.
- Coefficient Table: Uses a table of 180 coefficients (20 amino acids × 9 peptide positions) derived from empirical analysis of 154 peptides to represent position-specific contributions for nonapeptides.
- Independence Assumption: Models each peptide side-chain contribution as independent when estimating overall peptide–HLA-A2 complex stability.
- Ranking Capability: Ranks peptides by predicted dissociation half-time and identifies biologically relevant nonamer peptides among the top 2% of candidates from each source protein.
