Human BioMolecular Atlas Program Data Portal

Human BioMolecular Atlas Program Data Portal provides access to single-cell, spatial, and molecular datasets and supports data processing, search, filtering, and visualization for constructing a reference 3D structural, cellular, and molecular atlas of the healthy adult human body.

Key Features:

  • Data Access: Serves experimental datasets including single-cell, spatial, and molecular data.
  • Data Processing: Supports computational processing of experimental datasets.
  • Search and Filtering: Enables search and filtering of atlas data.
  • Visualization: Provides tools and visualizations for exploring the human body at multiple scales.
  • Cell Type Annotation Integration: Supports mapping new experimental data using three cell type annotation tools including Azimuth.
  • Antibody Panel Validation: Supports mapping new experimental data using validated antibody panels (OMAPs).
  • Spatial Registration: Supports mapping new experimental data by registering tissue data spatially.

Scientific Applications:

  • Reference Atlas Construction: Constructs a reference 3D structural, cellular, and molecular atlas of the healthy adult human body covering 36 organs with 4,499 unique anatomical structures, 1,195 cell types, and 2,089 biomarkers including genes, proteins, and lipids.
  • Multiscale Structural Analysis: Describes the multiscale structure of the human body from organs and tissues down to cells, genes, and biomarkers.
  • Perturbation Studies: Supports understanding changes that occur with aging, disease, and other perturbations at multiple biological levels.
  • Ontology Integration: Links anatomical structures, cell types, and biomarkers to ontologies and 2D/3D reference objects.

Methodology:

New experimental data can be mapped into the Human Reference Atlas using three cell type annotation tools including Azimuth, validated antibody panels (OMAPs), or by registering tissue data spatially. The Common Coordinate Framework, knowledge graphs, and unified analysis workflows support atlas construction and data integration.
