Hybkit

Hybkit analyzes hybrid sequence data generated by microRNA (miRNA) and target ligation methods to characterize chimeric RNA sequences and miRNA-target interactions.

Key Features:

  • "hyb" file format support: Reads and processes hybrid sequence data stored in the "hyb" file format for evaluation and annotation of hybrid characteristics.
  • Python API: Provides a suite of Python objects to enable custom analyses and programmatic access to hybrid data.
  • Command-line toolkit: Includes command-line utilities for performing hybrid sequence analyses.
  • miRNA-specific methods: Implements methods tailored to microRNA (miRNA) analysis and characterization of miRNA-target interactions in chimeric sequences.
  • Visualization: Offers plotting functionalities to visualize analysis results.
  • Integration with predicted interactions: Supports incorporation of predicted miRNA/target interactions formatted in Vienna format.

Scientific Applications:

  • miRNA-target interaction analysis: Enables characterization of chimeric RNA sequences to identify and study miRNA-target interactions.
  • Gene regulation studies: Supports investigation of miRNA-mediated gene regulation using ligation-derived hybrid sequence data.

Methodology:

Provides computational parsing, annotation, and analysis of hybrid sequence data via a Python API and a command-line interface.
