iBEX

iBEX provides device-independent software to support research and development in X-ray imaging modalities, including chest radiography, linear and multidirectional tomography, and dental and skeletal radiography.

Key Features:

  • Hardware Adaptability: Extension mechanism for integration across diverse digital X-ray imaging setups and sensor technologies.
  • Plugin Development: Support for development of custom image processing plug-ins to implement tailored algorithms and workflows.
  • Device Calibration and Integration: Tools for calibrating X-ray devices and integrating with health information infrastructure systems.
  • Image Acquisition and Storage: Functionality to acquire images directly from digital detectors and store imaging studies locally.
  • PACS Integration: Support for transfer of acquired imaging studies to Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).

Scientific Applications:

  • Preclinical testing: Support for preclinical validation and evaluation of X-ray imaging devices and imaging methods.
  • Early clinical testing: Support for early clinical evaluation and pilot studies of radiography devices.
  • Device development and image-quality assessment: Use in development and testing workflows to evaluate image quality and integration with clinical infrastructure.
