ibmd

ibmd implements benchmark dose (BMD) estimation methods from the R package `bmd` to provide quantitative hazard characterization for toxicology and ecotoxicology risk assessment.

Key Features:

  • Integration with R: Operates within the R statistical environment and leverages the `bmd` R package.
  • Compatibility with DRC Package: Utilizes the `drc` package to support a wide range of dose–response models.
  • Advanced Statistical Methods: Implements benchmark dose estimation approaches including model averaging.
  • Data Handling Capabilities: Processes binomial, continuous, and count data and supports simple and complex hierarchical designs.

Scientific Applications:

  • Risk assessment in toxicology and ecotoxicology: Provides quantitative benchmark dose measures to inform chemical hazard characterization and risk assessment.
  • Dose–response analysis: Facilitates estimation of BMDs to characterize dose–response relationships and support determination of exposure thresholds.

Methodology:

Uses `drc` dose–response models, benchmark dose estimation methods including model averaging, handles binomial, continuous and count data, supports hierarchical experimental designs, and allows implementation of established and novel statistical methods and integration with other statistical analyses.
