IgBLAST
IgBLAST identifies germline V, D, and J gene segments and delineates immunoglobulin (IG) variable-domain features from nucleotide or protein sequences to support immunogenetics and B-cell receptor repertoire analyses.
Key Features:
- Gene Identification: Identifies matches to germline V, D, and J gene segments within immunoglobulin sequences.
- Rearrangement Junction Analysis: Provides detailed information at V–D–J rearrangement junctions.
- Delineation of IG Sub-regions: Delineates variable-domain framework regions and complementarity-determining regions (CDRs).
- Simultaneous Database Searches: Performs simultaneous searches against germline gene databases and other sequence databases to improve gene matching accuracy.
- Batch Processing Capability: Supports batch processing of sequences for high-throughput analysis.
- Nucleotide and Protein Sequence Analysis: Analyzes both nucleotide and protein sequences as input.
Scientific Applications:
- Immunogenetics research: Enables analysis of antibody genetic diversity and V(D)J rearrangements.
- B-cell receptor repertoire analysis: Supports characterization of B-cell receptor repertoires from sequencing datasets.
- Vaccine development: Supports vaccine research by characterizing antigen-binding regions.
- Autoimmune disease research: Aids investigation of autoreactive B-cell repertoires in autoimmune studies.
- Cancer immunotherapy: Assists analysis of tumor- or therapy-associated B-cell receptor sequences for immunotherapy research.
- High-throughput sequencing projects: Processes large datasets from high-throughput sequencing experiments.
Methodology:
Performs sequence similarity searches against germline V, D, and J gene databases and other sequence databases to identify V(D)J gene matches, analyze rearrangement junctions, and delineate variable-domain framework regions and CDRs from nucleotide or protein inputs, with support for batch processing.
