iHypoxia
iHypoxia integrates low-throughput (LTE) and high-throughput (HTE) protein expression data to characterize hypoxia-induced protein expression dynamics across animal species.
Key Features:
- Extensive Dataset: Contains 1,629 expression events of 1,215 proteins from LTEs and 154,953 quantitative expression events of 36,194 proteins from HTEs across five mammalian species.
- Orthologous Search Capability: Identifies 581,763 potential hypoxia-responsive proteins among 50 animal species through orthologous searches.
- Experimental Detail Integration: Integrates experimental metadata including specific hypoxic conditions, expression patterns, and sample types.
- Functional Enrichment Analysis: Enrichment analysis of human proteins identified from LTEs reveals significant associations with drug targets and cancer-related genes.
- Posttranslational Modification Annotation: Annotates PTM sites such as phosphorylation, ubiquitination, and acetylation on proteins identified by LTEs.
Scientific Applications:
- Cellular and Molecular Biology: Understanding how cells sense and adapt to low oxygen levels.
- Cancer Research: Exploring the role of hypoxia in tumor progression and identifying potential therapeutic targets.
- Pharmacology: Identifying drug targets associated with hypoxic conditions to inform treatment strategies for hypoxia-related diseases.
Methodology:
Integrates data from LTEs and HTEs and applies orthologous searches across species to expand the set of putative hypoxia-responsive proteins.
