InterARTIC

InterARTIC reconstructs consensus viral genomes and analyzes whole-genome sequencing (WGS) data generated by Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) to support genomic surveillance of viruses including SARS-CoV-2 and Ebola virus.

Key Features:

  • Consensus Genome Reconstruction: Supports reconstruction of consensus genome sequences from individual viral isolates for accurate genomic analysis and surveillance.
  • Workflow Customization: Enables customization of analysis workflows to accommodate both small-scale and large-scale WGS projects.
  • Job Scheduling System: Incorporates a job-scheduling system to manage computational tasks and optimize resource usage.

Scientific Applications:

  • Viral Surveillance and Molecular Epidemiology: Facilitates tracking of viral mutations, monitoring of outbreaks, and analysis of transmission dynamics for pathogens such as SARS-CoV-2 and Ebola virus.
  • Multi-virus WGS Analysis: Supports analysis of ONT-derived WGS data from different viruses to standardize sequencing-derived genomic outputs across projects.

Methodology:

Implemented as an open-source web application using Python.
