Intervene

Intervene computes and visualizes intersections among multiple gene or genomic region sets derived from high-throughput sequencing experiments.

Key Features:

  • Venn Module: Generates Venn diagrams for up to six sets to represent overlapping regions among gene or genomic region datasets.
  • UpSet Module: Creates UpSet plots as a scalable alternative to Venn diagrams for displaying complex intersections among larger numbers of sets.
  • Pairwise Module: Computes pairwise intersections and visualizes them as clustered heat maps to highlight patterns and clusters across datasets.
  • Input types: Accepts multiple gene lists and genomic region sets derived from high-throughput sequencing experiments.

Scientific Applications:

  • Intersection analysis: Identify common genes or genomic regions shared across multiple datasets.
  • Scalable intersection mining: Analyze complex intersections in large collections of gene or region sets.
  • Relationship and cluster discovery: Reveal pairwise relationships and clustering patterns among genomic datasets.

Methodology:

Generates Venn diagrams (up to six sets), constructs UpSet plots for multiple sets, and computes pairwise intersections with clustered heat map visualization.
