IPK BLAST Server

IPK BLAST Server performs homology searches across barley and Triticeae genomic datasets to support genomic mapping and comparative analyses.

Key Features:

  • Comprehensive Sequence Resources: Provides whole genome shotgun (WGS) assemblies from barley cultivars Morex, Barke, and Bowman.
  • High- and Low-Confidence Gene Sets: Includes both high- and low-confidence gene sets to represent varying levels of gene model certainty.
  • POPSEQ Anchoring Data: Incorporates the latest POPSEQ anchoring data to improve chromosomal mapping precision.
  • Exome Capture Targets: Contains barley exome capture target sequences for targeted genetic analyses.
  • Additional Genomic Resources: Aggregates bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) assemblies, BAC end sequences, and full-length cDNAs.

Scientific Applications:

  • Genome Organization Studies: Enables detailed investigations of genome organization within Triticeae species using integrated sequence datasets.
  • Comparative Genomics: Supports comparative analyses across related species to identify sequence similarity and divergence.
  • Breeding Programs: Facilitates identification of genetic variation relevant to barley breeding and cultivar improvement.

Methodology:

Part of the transPLANT project, it standardizes data formats and develops tools to enable integration and exchange of genomic data across distributed resources.
