IWTomics

IWTomics implements Interval-Wise Testing and Functional Data Analysis to detect statistically significant effects across genomic locations and scales in high-resolution sequence-based 'Omics' data.

Key Features:

  • Interval-Wise Testing (IWT): Implements Interval-Wise Testing to evaluate differences between two groups of genomic regions or between a group of genomic regions and a reference center of symmetry without predefining location or scale.
  • Functional Data Analysis: Processes sequence-based 'Omics' data as continuous curves using Functional Data Analysis techniques to analyze signals across multiple locations and scales.
  • Comprehensive workflow: Provides a workflow that includes pre-processing, visualization, and testing of high-resolution 'Omics' data.

Scientific Applications:

  • Genomic region effect identification: Supports identification of statistically significant effects across different genomic regions in high-resolution genomic studies.
  • Epigenomic analyses: Enables multi-scale analysis relevant to epigenomic studies, including chromatin modifications and gene expression regulation.

Methodology:

IWTomics applies Functional Data Analysis to represent omics signals as continuous curves and uses the Interval-Wise Testing framework to compare genomic intervals (between two groups or against a reference center of symmetry) without pre-fixing location or scale.
