LAILAPS Search Engine (IPK instance) indexes and integrates plant genomic data to facilitate discovery of gene–trait associations and identification of candidate genes for forward genetic research.

  • Extensive Data Integration: Integrates over 65 million indexed documents from more than 13 major life science databases and provides around 80 million links to plant genomic resources.
  • Fuzzy Querying Capability: Supports fuzzy querying to identify candidate genes associated with specific phenotypic traits across loosely integrated genome databases.
  • Evidence-Based Annotation System: Ranks gene annotations based on available evidence to facilitate association of genomic information with plant genome loci.
  • User-Assisted Relevance Sorting: Uses an artificial neural network that incorporates user feedback and behavior tracking to sort search results by relevance.
  • Comprehensive Information Retrieval: Acts as an information retrieval system that extracts knowledge from complex, heterogeneous, and distributed life science databases to provide a view from genes to traits.
