LipidOne

LipidOne analyzes lipidomic data at the building-block level to identify and quantify lipid building blocks across lipid classes and experimental groups and to correlate these changes with enzyme activity, gene expression and transcript levels using LC/MS-derived data.

Key Features:

  • Building Block Analysis: Identifies and analyzes changes in lipid building blocks across lipid classes and experimental groups.
  • Integration with LC/MS: Processes and leverages liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC/MS) data for qualitative and quantitative lipid determination.
  • Correlation with Biological Processes: Correlates alterations in building blocks with enzyme activity, gene expression, and transcript levels.
  • Systems Biology Perspective: Focuses on constituent lipid parts rather than only assembled lipid molecules to support systems-level interpretation of lipid metabolism.

Scientific Applications:

  • Lipid Metabolism Studies: Dissects compositional changes in lipid building blocks to inform biochemical synthesis and transformation processes.
  • Disease Biomarker Discovery: Identifies building-block–level alterations that may serve as lipidomic biomarkers for disease states.
  • Metabolic Pathway Analysis: Links changes in lipid constituents to metabolic pathway modulation and regulation.
  • Case-Control Experiments: Detects subtle differences in lipid composition between experimental groups in case-control study designs.
  • Linking Molecular to Molecular Phenotypes: Associates molecular alterations in lipids with enzymatic activities and genetic expression profiles.
  • Personalized Medicine and Therapeutics: Supports targeted therapeutic strategy development by providing building-block–level lipidomic profiles.

Methodology:

Identifies and quantifies lipid building blocks across lipid classes and experimental groups from LC/MS data and correlates building-block changes with enzyme activity, gene expression, and transcript levels.
