LMME
LMME enables visual exploration and systematic decomposition of large metabolic models comprising thousands of metabolites and reactions to reveal subsystem relationships relevant to systems biology, biotechnology, and pharmacology.
Key Features:
- Decomposition into Subsystems: Performs decomposition of metabolic networks into subsystems using predefined or computed methods, including built-in or user-defined approaches.
- Identification of Relationships: Identifies and visualizes relationships and interactions between subsystems.
- Overview and Detailed Subviews: Computes an overview of the entire model and generates detailed subviews to examine specific subsystems and their interconnections.
- Integration with VANTED: Integrates with VANTED to operate within a domain-specific environment that supports related network analyses.
Scientific Applications:
- Systems Biology: Facilitates interpretation of large-scale metabolic network structure and subsystem interactions in systems biology studies.
- Biotechnology: Supports identification of metabolic subsystem targets for strain engineering and other biotechnological applications.
- Pharmacology: Aids exploration of pharmacological interactions by visualizing subsystem relationships within metabolic models.
Methodology:
Computational steps explicitly include decomposition of the model into subsystems (predefined, built-in, or user-defined methods), identification and visualization of inter-subsystem relationships, and generation of an overarching overview together with detailed subviews.
