LmTraceMap

LmTraceMap performs cgMLST-based comparison of Listeria monocytogenes whole-genome sequencing (WGS) data to identify and trace closely related isolates for global surveillance and epidemiological investigations.

Key Features:

  • cgMLST-based typing: Implements core-genome multilocus sequence typing (cgMLST) for genome-based typing of Listeria monocytogenes isolates.
  • WGS comparison across regions: Compares whole-genome sequencing (WGS) data from isolates collected in different regions to detect genetic similarity.
  • Rapid source tracing: Identifies and links closely related isolates to support rapid source attribution in epidemiological investigations.
  • Geospatial visualization with epidemiological labels: Presents results on a world map with each location labeled by epidemiological information for contextual analysis.

Scientific Applications:

  • Global surveillance of Listeria monocytogenes: Supports monitoring of L. monocytogenes population structure and relatedness on a global scale.
  • Outbreak source tracing: Enables rapid identification of potential outbreak sources by linking genetically related isolates.
  • Epidemiological situational awareness: Integrates cgMLST results with epidemiological metadata to aid interpretation of spread and origin of outbreaks.

Methodology:

Compares whole-genome sequencing (WGS) data using core-genome multilocus sequence typing (cgMLST) to identify genetic similarities among Listeria monocytogenes isolates.
