LungGENS
LungGENS provides query and analysis of single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) gene expression data from lung tissues to characterize cell-type-specific expression, selective gene signatures, cell surface markers, and transcription factors.
Key Features:
- Gene Query Functionality: Accepts gene symbols or gene lists to return quantitative scRNA-seq expression profiles across annotated lung cell types.
- Cell Type Query Capability: Retrieves selective gene signatures for chosen lung cell types and identifies genes encoding cell surface markers and transcription factors.
Scientific Applications:
- Gene Expression Analysis: Enables investigation of gene expression patterns within specific lung cell types using scRNA-seq data.
- Cell Type Characterization: Supports characterization of lung cell populations via selective gene signatures and marker identification for studies of lung development, disease mechanisms, and therapeutic target discovery.
Methodology:
Queries and aggregates publicly available single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) datasets to extract quantitative gene expression across lung cell types and to derive selective gene signatures and lists of cell surface markers and transcription factors.
