MDADP

MDADP predicts potential microbe-disease associations (MDAs) by integrating a curated MDA database with multiple computational models to support identification of disease-associated microbes.

Key Features:

  • Comprehensive MDA database: Contains 2019 known microbe-disease associations involving 58 diseases and 703 microbes, curated for accuracy and relevance.
  • Predictive models: Implements eight representative computational models to generate candidate disease-related microbes from existing association data.
  • Integration methods: Combines model outputs using the average ranking method and the co-confidence method to produce aggregated predictions.

Scientific Applications:

  • Exploration of microbiota-disease relationships: Identifies candidate microbes associated with specific diseases based on known MDAs and model predictions.
  • Disease mechanism and therapeutic research: Provides predicted microbe-disease associations that can inform studies of disease mechanisms and potential microbial therapeutic targets.

Methodology:

Integration of multiple computational models that employ the average ranking method and the co-confidence method to analyze existing MDA data and generate ranked predictions.
