MedTator

MedTator facilitates creation of high-quality annotation corpora for biomedical and clinical text by supporting document annotation, corpus summarization, annotation export, and annotation adjudication.

Key Features:

  • Document annotation: Enables manual annotation of biomedical and clinical documents.
  • Corpus summarization: Produces summaries and metadata for annotated corpora.
  • Annotation export: Exports annotations for downstream analysis and corpus development.
  • Annotation adjudication: Provides adjudication capabilities to reconcile annotator disagreements and produce consensus annotations.
  • Serverless implementation: Implements client-side/serverless operation using HTML5 and open-source packages.

Scientific Applications:

  • Corpus development for biomedical and clinical research: Supports creation and management of annotated corpora used in biomedical and clinical studies.
  • Adjudication and quality control: Enables reconciliation of annotator differences to produce gold-standard corpora for downstream analysis.

Methodology:

Built using HTML5 techniques and leveraging open-source packages to provide serverless (client-side) text annotation.
