MEGU
MEGU visualizes and integrates transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic datasets by mapping multiple omics layers onto interconnected KEGG pathway maps using Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) to support pathway-level analysis of cellular networks.
Key Features:
- Multi-layer omics mapping: Simultaneously maps transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic data onto integrated pathway diagrams.
- KEGG pathway integration: Connects individual KEGG (Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes) pathway maps to create unified pathway visualizations.
- Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) output: Generates SVG images for mapped pathways to preserve image quality.
- Editable visualizations: Produces SVG output that is editable with manual tools and computer software.
- High-throughput data support: Facilitates visualization of high-throughput measurements to examine extensive physiological networks.
Scientific Applications:
- Integrative multi-omics analysis: Enables pathway-level integration of transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic datasets.
- Pathway-centric interpretation: Supports interpretation of coordinated molecular changes across KEGG pathways.
- Cellular network investigation: Aids investigation of interactions among genes, proteins, and metabolites within cellular networks.
- Disease mechanism exploration: Facilitates exploration of cellular functions and disease mechanisms via pathway-level multi-omics visualization.
Methodology:
Maps omics layers onto KEGG pathway maps, connects individual KEGG maps into integrated pathway diagrams, and outputs Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) images that are editable manually or programmatically.
