MetaADEDB aggregates drug–adverse event associations from multiple public sources to support pharmacovigilance and drug safety assessment.


Key Features:

  • Integrated data sources: Aggregates ADE data from FAERS, Canada Vigilance Adverse Reaction Online Database, Comparative Toxicogenomics Database (CTD), SIDER, and OFFSIDES.
  • Expanded dataset: Contains 744,709 drug–ADE associations across 8,498 compounds (including over 3,000 drugs) linked to 13,193 ADEs, representing over a 40% increase in associations and nearly a 200% increase in compounds versus the prior version.
  • Unique identifiers: Assigns each compound a unique identifier based on chemical structure and maps ADEs to UMLS IDs for consistent referencing.

  • Identify potential drug–ADE associations: Enables discovery and prioritization of suspected adverse reactions linked to pharmaceutical compounds.
  • Support drug discovery and development: Provides aggregated ADE evidence to inform risk assessment and safety decision-making during development.

Methodology:

Data were collected and integrated from FAERS, Canada Vigilance, CTD, SIDER, and OFFSIDES, with compounds assigned chemical structure–based unique identifiers and ADEs mapped to UMLS IDs.
