MFGA
MFGA aggregates and indexes OMICS data related to male infertility and germ cell research to enable targeted querying and integration of results from publications.
Key Features:
- Standardized Data Representation: Encodes aggregated results from scientific publications, including tables, figures, images, and supplementary materials, into a standardized format.
- Advanced Search Functionality: Supports queries by study conditions/phenotypes, meta-information, and genes to retrieve matching tables, figures, and lists of frequently investigated genes.
- Comprehensive Data Model: Implements a flexible data model to structure diverse metadata, data tables, and images across studies.
- Extensive Database: Includes 46 representative publications covering data from 28 tissue types, 32 cell types, 20 conditions, and approximately 5,000 distinct genes mentioned in at least ten of the included publications.
Scientific Applications:
- Targeted Research: Enables focused retrieval of OMICS results within male infertility and germ cell research to pinpoint relevant studies and specific experimental outcomes.
- Meta-Analyses and Data Mining: Aggregates study results to support meta-analyses and data-mining investigations of genetic and epigenetic factors contributing to male infertility.
Methodology:
Interconnects and integrates results from OMICS studies using a flexible data model to structure metadata, data tables, and images and enables query-based retrieval across publications.
