miRGator v2.0
miRGator v2.0 provides an integrated database compiling human miRNA expression profiles, paired mRNA–miRNA expression data, gene expression under miRNA perturbation, known and predicted miRNA targets, manually curated miRNA–disease associations with tissue and perturbation context, and genomic annotations for functional investigation of microRNAs.
Key Features:
- Human miRNA Expression Profiles: Contains over 8,000 human miRNA expression profiles across diverse experimental conditions.
- Paired mRNA–miRNA Expression Profiles: Provides matched mRNA and miRNA expression datasets to enable joint analysis of regulatory relationships.
- Gene Expression under miRNA Perturbation: Includes approximately 300 gene expression profiles from miRNA perturbation experiments such as knockout or overexpression.
- miRNA Targets: Aggregates both known and predicted miRNA targets for exploration of potential regulatory pathways.
- miRNA–Disease Associations: Offers manually curated annotations linking miRNAs to diseases with associated tissue types and perturbation conditions.
- Genomic Annotations: Integrates genomic annotation data related to miRNAs and their loci.
Scientific Applications:
- Novel Association Extraction: Integrates datasets to extract novel associations among miRNAs, targets, and diseases, including systematic comparison of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) following miRNA knockout against predicted miRNA targets.
- Comparative Analysis: Enables comparison of differentially expressed miRNAs (DEmiRs) with disease-associated miRNAs to elucidate miRNA roles in disease contexts.
- Parallel Regulation Insights: Identifies miRNA pairs showing coordinated expression regulation across experimental and disease conditions to reveal potential co-regulatory mechanisms.
Methodology:
Network visualization of associations among miRNAs, genes, and diseases.
