MIRIAM WS

MIRIAM WS provides generation and resolution of MIRIAM (Minimum Information Required in the Annotation of Models) annotations to assign perennial, location-independent Uniform Resource Identifiers (URIs) and resolvable Uniform Resource Locators (URLs) to biomedical data records for unambiguous model and dataset referencing.

• Unique Identifiers: Uses a shared catalogue of data collections with individual namespaces to create URIs that uniquely and perennially identify any record in a collection.
• Extensive Metadata: Records comprehensive metadata for each data collection to support accurate identification and retrieval.
• Identifier Generation and Resolution: Provides services to generate and resolve MIRIAM annotations, including the creation of directly resolvable URLs via the Identifiers.org service built on the Registry.
• Parallel Identification Scheme: Implements a parallel identification scheme that allows multiple identifiers for the same entity to accommodate different needs and contexts.
• Updated Software Infrastructure: Operates on an updated infrastructure that supports identifier registration, resolution, and scalability.

Methodology:

Maintains a Registry of data collections with namespaces and detailed metadata, generates URIs and resolvable URLs via Identifiers.org based on Registry information, and applies a parallel identification scheme for identifier generation and resolution.
