Model_Dis

Model_Dis facilitates discovery, semantic annotation, and recommendation of CellML models for epithelial transport research within the Physiome Model Repository (PMR).

Key Features:

  • Semantic Annotation: Leverages semantic web technologies to annotate CellML mathematical models with biological semantics to improve discoverability and reusability.
  • Model Discovery and Exploration: Supports semantic queries to identify relevant CellML models and to suggest similar or alternative models.
  • Reproducibility and Reuse: Provides comprehensive semantic descriptions and annotations to support reproducibility and reuse of mathematical models.

Scientific Applications:

  • Hypothesis Testing: Enables use of annotated CellML models to test biological hypotheses related to epithelial transport.
  • Simulation Studies: Facilitates mathematics- and physics-based simulation studies using computable models represented in CellML.
  • Interdisciplinary Research: Supports integration of models across biology, mathematics, and computational sciences for epithelial transport investigations.

Methodology:

Applies semantic web technologies and formal semantic description of mathematical models using tools and guidelines; archives and shares annotated models in the Physiome Model Repository (PMR); enables semantic queries over annotated models.
