MPTHub
MPTHub analyzes particle trajectories to quantify transport properties in biorelevant media for studying particle–biological interactions.
Key Features:
- Data import from video microscopy: Imports trajectory data derived from video microscopy for subsequent analysis.
- Rapid data processing: Processes trajectory datasets in under 10 seconds with a maximum memory footprint of approximately 150 MB of RAM.
- Comprehensive transport metrics: Calculates individual and ensemble time-averaged mean square displacements (MSD), effective diffusivity, and anomalous transport exponents.
- Data export: Exports calculated transport parameters for further analysis or publication.
Scientific Applications:
- Fundamental biology: Quantifies particle dynamics to study particle–biological interactions relevant to cellular and tissue environments.
- Toxicology: Assesses particle transport behavior relevant to toxicological evaluation of nanoparticles.
- Medicine and drug delivery: Characterizes transport properties relevant to drug delivery systems and disease-related transport processes.
- Environmental monitoring: Evaluates particle transport behaviors pertinent to environmental exposure scenarios.
- Validation example: Applied to study transport of polystyrene nanoparticles (100–200 nm) within mucus surrogates.
Methodology:
Implemented in Python; imports trajectory data obtained from microscopy, processes the trajectories to calculate relevant transport parameters (MSD, effective diffusivity, anomalous exponents), and exports the results.
