MR-microT

MR-microT implements MapReduce-based microRNA (miRNA) target prediction to identify mRNA targets of miRNAs for gene regulatory analysis.

Key Features:

  • MapReduce Framework: Leverages the MapReduce programming model to parallelize computation for microT target prediction.
  • microT Target Prediction: Implements microT target prediction methods for evaluating miRNA–mRNA interactions.
  • Scalability: Processes large datasets via distributed computation enabled by MapReduce.
  • Near-Real-Time Predictions: Produces near-real-time predictions for custom miRNA sequences.

Scientific Applications:

  • miRNA Target Identification: Identifies mRNA targets regulated by specific miRNAs.
  • Gene Regulatory Analysis: Supports analysis of miRNA-mediated gene regulation.
  • Therapeutic Target Discovery: Aids investigation of miRNA-based therapeutic targets.

Methodology:

Implements microT target prediction methods using the MapReduce programming model to parallelize computation for processing large datasets and producing near-real-time predictions for custom miRNA sequences.
