MRi-Share
MRi-Share provides a multi-modal brain MRI dataset and derived image-based phenotypes to study structural, microstructural, and functional brain changes during late adolescence and early adulthood.
Key Features:
- Multi-Modal Imaging: Includes structural MRI (T1-weighted and FLAIR), diffusion MRI (multispectral), susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI), and resting-state functional MRI.
- Cohort Composition: Comprises 1,870 young healthy adults aged 18–35 enrolled in university-level education, with a subsample of 1,722 individuals aged <26 years for focused post-adolescent analysis.
- Brain Phenotype Derivation: Uses advanced processing pipelines to derive structural, microstructural, and functional image-derived phenotypes.
- Quality Control: Implements rigorous quality control measures to ensure reliability and accuracy of imaging data and derived phenotypes.
- Standardized Acquisition Parameters: Employs a standardized protocol and consistent imaging parameters across participants to ensure comparability and reproducibility.
- Phenotype–Demographic Assessment: Derived phenotypes are assessed in relation to demographic variables such as age and sex.
Scientific Applications:
- Structural Changes: Analysis of grey matter cortical thickness, surface area, and volume and their age-related decreases.
- White Matter Development: Investigation of white matter volume increases and age-related changes in diffusivity metrics (radial and axial diffusivity) and fractional anisotropy.
- Microstructural Variations: Examination of neurite orientation dispersion, neurite densities, and isotropic volume fraction and their age-related increases.
Methodology:
Data acquisition follows a standardized protocol with consistent imaging parameters; advanced processing pipelines derive image-based phenotypes, which undergo rigorous quality control and are assessed against demographic variables such as age and sex.
