ncFO provides a curated database of experimentally verified and predicted associations between non-coding RNAs (miRNAs, lncRNAs, circRNAs) and ferroptosis to support research into ferroptosis regulation and cancer.


Key Features:

  • Manually Curated Database: Contains 90 experimentally verified ncRNA–ferroptosis associations comprising 46 microRNAs (miRNAs), 21 long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), and 17 circular RNAs (circRNAs), with per-entry details including ncRNA name, associated disease, species, tissue type, target gene, regulatory mechanism, publication time, and PubMed identifier.
  • Prediction Tools: Integrates two prediction approaches that use regulatory-mechanism-based prediction and co-expression analysis to generate 3,260 predicted entries (598 miRNAs and 178 lncRNAs) from regulatory mechanisms and 2,592,661 predicted entries (967 miRNAs and 9,632 lncRNAs) from co-expression analysis across more than 8,000 samples in over 20 cancer types.
  • Analytical Capabilities: Implements survival analysis and differential expression analysis for ncRNAs relevant to ferroptosis.
